I've had more trouble researching this memorial than is usual and I'm still stuck with three names that I cannot identify.
Just two now - ran across a newspaper report on John Murray while looking for someone else!

JAMES GREIG
ROBERT JOHNSTONE

any thoughts/ideas would be welcome.

The village of Torthorwald is just north of Dumfries on the A709 to Lochmaben and Lockerbie. Collin is to the east of Dumfries, just off the A75 to Annan and Carlisle.
