This WM was ordered on 18/6/1919 by John Little, Hoddan Schoolhouse, Ecclefchan, on Beattie & Co Log book No 2866, cost of £352/10/- with £250. paid in advance 27/9/1919. Taking crane from Carlisle and back at cost of £4.18/4d. ( note additional costs are all on log page) Erected on 28th and 29th May 1920.
In a cavity of the base of the WM a metal box was placed containing coins bearing the dates of the war years, a copy of the The Annadale Herald and a copy of the Annadale Observer, and the names of War Memorial Committee and Scultptor.
This information found on visit to Beattie & Co Carlisle in July 2010.
