I really was quite saddened to see the state of the surroundings the memorial finds itself in with broken bottles lying all around and the remain of poppy wreaths thrown around. Very neglected and this is more glaring when a public promenade just along the road is very colourful and well tended. _________________ Help Save Our Red Squirrels 4 wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul! Copies held in Portree library & inverness library. Broadford War Memorial : The Broadford or Strath War Memorial was erected in the summer of 1923 on a site above the A87 as it passes through the village of Broadford beside the village hall and primary school . The ceremony began with a joint service held in the Parish Church and then the Memorial was unveiled by Brigadier General McFarlan of Inverness and dedicated by the Reverend Dugald MacFarlane of Kingussie . When first erected it contained 65 names . .
