I thought after more than five years I should take a look at this one.
Now that I have Ancestry access, I think I have identified the correct man.
It's 35399, Sapper John Hosie.
The Calendar of Confirmations and Inventories shows hims dying in Glasgow on the 10th July 1920 and states he is a Sapper in the RE Postal Section. Testate to Margaret Gray or Hosie, widow, of POakshaw, Argyle Place, Rothesay.
There is a Pension Index Card which also gives her details, together with another card which has cause of death as Nephritis, and also mentions VDH. In the next column, where it asks whether it was casued by war service or not, it has been marked "Due to" - so it appears we have a confirmed non-comm.
Ken - you previously had the death certificate for him - can you send it on to me? |

My initial hopes for this one might have been premature.
Pensiion card states discharged due to Nephritis and VDH. Cause of death on the death certificate is pulmonary tuberculosis.
With a different cause of death to that of his discharge, it looks like this one can't go forward. |
