"PRIVATE JAMES RAMSAY, Camerons
(Killed)
Another name falls to be added to the list of Stevenston men who have fallen in the great war. Pte. James Ramsay, Cameron Highlanders, second son of Mr and Mrs Alex. Ramsay, Shore Road, Stevenston. He was wounded some time ago, and came home for a short rest and returned to France. Unfortunately on 11th September, he was severely wounded and passed away. The saddest thing in the war is the fact that youths of twenty, who have only entered into life, should be ruthlessly swept away. Time alone can blunt the sword of sorrow, and to the parents we extend our sincerest sympathy" _________________ Mary
