Luss - Dumbarton - Vale of Leven District
The Luss war memorial, a freestone cross with reversed sword carved in relief on face, is set into the roadside in the middle of the village.

It looks like it is based on the Cross of Sacrifice common in many CWGC cemeteries. There are differences though. The shaft on the cross and the pedestal look slightly different to the standard CWGC ones.

As soon as I saw that I thought about the "Ashbury" which foundered off Tongue in Sutherland but I see it is quoted as an example. Strange how one qualifies and the other doesn't.
