According to the Wrecksite.eu site, the Domala was bombed off the Isle of Wight when bound from Antwerp to the UK with Indian seamen aboard who were being repatriated from Germany. The bomber then machine-gunned those who were trying to escape the burning ship. 108 of the 291 aboard were killed. The ship was beached, salvaged and repaired, serving the rest of the war under a different name.
John Dunn's brother, not named on Bothwell was memorial, was killed in an accidental air crash near Sheriff Hutton, Yorkshire.
