Following a query on GWF, does anyone know if Capt E J Brodie of Lethen (1st Cameron Highlanders) is commemorated on any memorial? He died in Nov 1914 but there is no place of birth or enlistment. He died in Nov 1914.

There is a Lethen near Nairn and we have a Capt Ewen D Brodie of Lethen 1st Cameron Hrs on the Nairn War memorial under the Parish of Ardclach section.
The same man?
I take it the GWF man in question is this man:
BRODIE, EWEN JAMES
Rank: Captain
Regiment/Service: Cameron Highlanders
Unit Text: 1st Bn.
Date of Death: 12/11/1914
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 38 and 40.
Memorial: YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL
In which case the transcription we have may be wrong. Unfortunately we don't have close-ups of the Nairn memorial panels to check.

That's the man. LostInTilloy found him on Ardclach and Ferness http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=2640 so you may have a different man or it may be a transcription error or his name may actually be wrong on the memorial. I think the latter is unlikely given that his was a prominant family in the area.
The original post on GWF was "Capt Brodie, 1st Cameron Highlanders, has a memorial in the Nonnebossen ("Nonnebosschen" in those days) near Geluveld. He was killed in an action in November 1914.
Some Scottish visitors told a (similar?) memorial to this officer was raised somewhere in Scotland. Does anyone know about this memorial and it's whereabouts?"
I will ask about the memorial in Nonnebossen but it appears we have not yet identified an individual memorial for him in Scotland nor is there one on UKNIWM although I can well imagine there may be one in a church near to his home.

Dundeesown has just posted on GWF...........
"Cpt. Ewen James Brodie K.I.A. 14/11/1914 is Remembered on the Menin Gate and his wife gifted a memorial window that was dedicated in April 1916 to Auldearn Church."
Can someone add that to the appropriate index please?
