Hello , i stumbled across the site looking for information regarding my relatives who served in the Royal Scots , my grandad John " yappie " Burns i think served in the Dandy Ninth in india where he was a boxer and in the pipe band . My other grandfather , John Ross was in the Royals also and served in France , both i would imagine during the second world war , i have uncles who were pipe and drum majors and a cousin who is a pipe major and other uncles who served in the royals ...so it was a family tradition to join the royals , for me sadly i never joined up ...a decision that has been my biggest regret in life .As i embark on this journey i hope that along the way i can pop back and let you all know of my results and would appreciate any help whatsover on anything relating the Royal Scots with the name Burns , thank you , best regards brian burns |
