Thinking laterally, if you give us all the detail and which memorial it is from (the CSR entry) then perhaps we can find it on SNWM or CWGC.

Folks
Don't forget the handy list of abbreviations we have for just such requests:

We don't have CSR yet but I'd go with along with David's suggestion of Canadian Scottish Regiment.
Cheers

Hi
I have been up to Shieldaig and photographed the memorial there. I have be trying to find a Gregor Macdonald on the memorial, link below. it looks like CSR to me but could be GSR but not finding anything on either.
Found the CEF, Canadian.
Thanks
I have been practising putting it on the Forum and will be doing it correct soon.

CSR may represent Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). Are any other men listed as Cameronians or Scottish Rifles? If not, then this may be the answer.

Could also be Canadian Saskatchewan Regiment.
I cannot identify a Gregor MacDonald on either SNWM or CWGC so no luck there. I tried McDonald also.

Hi
This looks like my guy as this is a Shieldaig Memorial.
Will look into this further, to see if I can find him emigrating to Canada.
Another question, where would I find Merchant Navy details. Cannot find a John Macdonald or McDonald MN QM 1939-1945 on the CWG.

Merchant Navy are only included on CWGC if they died as a direct result of enemy action. If a merchant seaman died of illness or normal maritime risks then he would not be listed and I don't think you would find any info about him except on ships records or normal BMD.
