Husband of Caroline Ritchie Angus Phillips, 36 Wallfield Cres; Aberdeen. Married 1917 St Machar 168/2 146. Occ: was in the Inland Revenue service at Paisley , Glasgow , and Aberdeen. Staff Sergeant William Thomson

Named on the Jedburgh War Memorial in Roxburghshire as:

THOMSON, WM. S. SERGT. A. S. C.
William George Telfer Thomson age 36 Staff Sergeant/Mechanic (M2/050801) Advanced Motor Transport Workshops, Army Service Corps.
William served his apprenticeship as an engineer in Jedburgh and was thereafter employed in different areas of the country. He enlisted in December 1914 and served at Gallipoli and in Egypt from April 1915. He was invalided home due to ill heath and after he recovered he was posted to Mesopotamia in early 1917 where he succumbed to heat-stroke.
Born 1881 in Jedburgh as William George Thomson. Son of the late William Thomson and of Christina (Telfer) Thomson of Old Bongate, Jedburgh.
Husband of Catherine Mather (Cochrane) Thomson of 20 Milnab Street, Crieff, Perthshire who he married in 1905 in Govan, Glasgow.
Died on Active Service on 20 July 1917 and buried in Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, Iraq.

Named on the Galashiels War Memorial in Selkirkshire as:

PTE. THOMAS B. WISHART. King's Own Scottish Borderers
Thomas Brown Wishart age 22 Private (7247) 1/4th (Border) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.
Thomas served his apprenticeship as a grocer with Lipton Ltd. at their Crieff branch and was employed in Galashiels when he enlisted. He landed with his battalion at Gallipoli in June 1915 but he was killed a month later during the battle at Achi Baba Nullah.

Born 1893 in Crieff, Perthshire as Thomas. Son of Thomas and Margaret (Brown) Wishart of 24 High Street, Crieff.
Missing in Action on 12 July 1915 and named on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.

JOHN IRVING.

Named on the Selkirk War Memorial and Roll of Honour as:

IRVING, JOHN, PRIVATE, A. & S.H., 1917.
John Irving age 30 Private (S/19739) 11th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
John was a grocer to trade and was living at 5 Millar Street in Crieff, Perthshire when he married in January 1915. He was employed by MacEwan and Co. of Stirling, was managing their store in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire and was living at Penzance House in Henderson Street when he enlisted in November 1915. He was mobilised in April 1917 and joined his battalion in France in June 1917.
Born 1887 in Selkirk as Irvine. Son of the late Benjamin Irvine and of the late Jane (Fraser) Irving (both died in 1908 in Selkirk)
Husband of Helen (Bradley) Irving of 9 Back Feus, Selkirk who he married in 1915 in Crieff.
In 1920 she became Mrs. Donald Graham of 11, Galvelmore Street, Crieff.
His daughter Mary was born in Selkirk on 25 May 1917.

Missing in Action on 17 October 1917 and named on the Arras Memorial, France.
Also named on the Selkirk West United Free Church memorial.
