Ok all you super sleuths . . . . .

Who is this - Charles Ferguson, Charles Graham or somebody else competely!

Another case similar to John Richardson (Harress), Three children of Elizabeth Templeman, wife of William Graham. I've looked on CWGC and SNWM for all the options but can't find a 'close' match - a good few possibles but not enough info on the stone to identify which Charles this would be.

Did Elizabeth Templeton marry a Mr Ferguson and have three children. Then Mr F. was off the scene for whatever reason and Wm Graham became husband No. 2

If that's the case we're looking for a Charles Ferguson who died in 1915.

What about this chap, one of only 7 C. Ferguson's who died in 1915:

FERGUSON, CHARLES
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Able Seaman
Regiment/Service: Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve
Unit Text: Collingwood Bn. R.N. Div.
Age: 18
Date of Death: 04/06/1915
Service No: Clyde Z/1967
Additional information: Son of Mrs. Elizabeth F. Graham, of 449, Govan Rd., Govan, Glasgow.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 8 to 15.
Memorial: HELLES MEMORIAL

The SNWM doesn't give his place of birth though.

Oh Dear Knows Adam!

This one isn't driving me as bonkers as our John Richardson was - so I'm not going through Scotland's People again - me being a bit of a misery guts when it comes to spending money on credits! This one's in Camelon Cemetery too - seems to be the place for mysteries!

In fact I'm usually eventually able to identify each of the people mentioned on stones but there's soooooo many in there I haven't got a clue about. They're obviously not all buried there but I always like to try as best I can to find out as much as I can about each one - where possible, plus, as we were saying earlier, if he was a Camelon man I'd want to know all about him for the war memorial!

I agree with Adam, that is the right man as far as these things can ever be certain. Elizabeth Templeman married a Mr Ferguson and had 2 sons and a daughter. She subsequently married a William Graham and was therefore Elizabeth F (Ferguson?) Graham in the CWGC entry for her son and subsequently at the time of her death in 1938. To avoid spending more money with ScotlandsPeople I think to prove a link with Camelon you will have to trudge the usual route of church records, school records and the local papers. Any church Rolls of Honour or similar for Camelon by the way?

I've checked all the other local war memorials just in case, but he's not on any of them. Camelon Church lists one but it's a William Ferguson. I have the Church memorial transcribed but the photos were rubbish and I've never got round to going back to try and get better ones.

So I suppose this is a good reminder to get that sorted!!

Gold Star for you Adam!! Smile And you can have one too Paul - just for agreeing!

The details you posted above are the correct man, so another one of life's little mysteries solved.
