I've found this headstone at Ormskirk (Ss Peter and Paul) Churchyard in Lancashire:
Which I believe refers to the following casualty:
LEISK, JAMES
Rank: Staff Serjeant
Service No: 2874086
Date of Death: 20/02/1943
Regiment/Service: Royal Army Medical Corps, 29 General Hospital
Grave Reference: 1. C. 3.
Cemetery: TEHRAN WAR CEMETERY
I've found his birth registered at Yell, Shetland in 1907, and his marriage at Monquhitter in 1938 (though he was living in London).
I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with this man or if his name crops up on any Scottish war memorials? _________________ https://www.facebook.com/scarisbrickrollofhonour |

Sure. The images on ScotlandsPeople aren't the easiest to read, but this is what I can make out...
21 April 1939, Monquhitter Church
James Christie Leisk, mental attendant(?), age 30, of 29 York St. London, son of James Hugh Leisk & Christina Grace Leisk (m.s. Robertson)
Gertrude Mary Morrison, mental nurse, age 23, of Monquhitter, daughter of Gorden(?) Morrison and Jane Morrison (m.s. Hay) _________________ https://www.facebook.com/scarisbrickrollofhonour |

I did find info on the Leisk family but nothing that might help and the public tree is not active.... _________________ Researching WWI info from Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Kincardineshire & Morayshire. |
