He is listed in the SCOTTISH NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL the Castle Edinburgh under the Black Watch and also the Royal Scots Roll of honours showing his previous service in the other famous Regiment.

Book :ROLL OF HONOUR ARBROATH AND DISTRICT 1914-1919 Printed & Published by T Buncle & Co Arbroath shows a photo of Pte W Anderson in his Black Watch uniform and his home address is shown as being 21 FERGUS STREET ARBROATH the son of William Anderson of 31 Green Street Arbroath. He left one daughter .......

"CASUALTIES. Notes on Officers. ARTILLERY.
Mr. J. NICOLL BENNETT.- Killed. Prior to ??? military service he was a solicitor with Mr. Norman M'Bain, Arbroath. He was in the Royal Garrison Artillery, was a native of St. Andrews, and prior to going to Arbroath he served in different law offices in St. Andrews, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Mr. Bennett was well known as a golfer. He was 37 years of age and was married so recently as April 16 last. His widow resides at 52 Addison Place, Arbroath." (Print is a bit murky so the numbers may not be correctly transcribed- sorry.)

His name is also at St. Andrews War Memorial.
