From the Second World War names William McAllan was a Merchant Seaman lost on the Convoy Rescue vessel SS 'Stockport'

"Private Robert Smith, 1-7th Battalion Gordon Highlanders, has died of wounds. He was for a considerable time in the Army, serving through the South African War, was afterwards a postman at Milltimber, and joined the Territorials on the outbreak of the war." |
