I ran across this man on a Scouting web site as a WW2 casualty from Minnigaff Group, Wigtownshire but there's no sign of him on any D&G memorials.
He was however born in Lochbroom so might be listed there?
He is shown as:
Signalman Lauchlin Wallace McKenzie. 10 April 1942. Royal Navy. Aged 20 years. Killed by dive bombers over Ceylon.
