I have contacted all the FHS's named on the Scottish Association of FHS website (apart from ones others have contacted). Not every one has replied, but those that have say they will put in a link and give the site a mention in the Journal they send to their members - though this may not be for a few months. |

I've said it before but I will say it again
I do like your website John - very well done indeed.
I've submitted us to Rootsweb (again) tonight.
Interesting as they keep saying that "The URL does not appear to be an allowed RootsWeb.com site." _________________

I've asked the British War Memorial Project if they would consider putting a link on their site ( www.britishwargraves.org.uk ).
I noticed they had a link to an Irish War Memorial Project so we'll have to wait and see.

In response to a couple of enquiries Dr Diana Henderson has said she will add us as a link to the Scots at War Website

They're a bit short on links, aren't they? |

David,
Yes, a bit short on the links front - and one is broken. However, I should perhaps have expanded my thoughts on this one - so allow me to get my serious head on.
The Roll of Honour on Scots at War has over 500 names added to date. Thats 500 people who have cared enough for family & friends to seek out somewhere to commemorate them.
Think how delighted we would have been if even a proportion of them had 'linked' to us and introduced themselves, posted a photo, told a story. It could happen yet?
For example, I thought I'd been thorough with my research for Blair & Rattray but in the last 6 months relatives of two men listed on the W.M.,with whose family I had no contact, have added to the RoH at Scots at War.
I don't want us to hijack anyone elses research or sites but work together for the common aim - NOT FORGOTTEN.
Did I say my serious head.....maybe it was just my dreamers . |

I put "Scottish War Memorials Forum" into Google and we are featuring heavily in the top 20 but this is due to other sites hosting our link and not due to a direct link to here.
Obvious by now, Google and Bizhat just don't get on. _________________
