I am endeavouring to locate relatives of the men who served on HMS Martin which was sunk 10th November 1942 with the loss of 159 of her 222 crew.
There were a number of the crew who were born in Scotland, a few of whom are remebered on our family website:

I would be most grateful for any help in my research.
Many thanks.
Tom.

The only name I thought I recognised was Robert McCormick whose parents were from Straraer. Surprisingly he does not seem to be listed on any memorial in the Stranraer area.
If you could post a list of the names and towns/cities they are connected with, I think you would be more likely to get some info.
Good luck with your project.

Hi Paul.
Thanks for your message.
I was given the contact address for the brother of Leading Stoker Robert McWilliam McCormick and he kindly sent me the photo and the additional information which is installed on the Crew ID page of Robert.
I will list the names and locations of all the men from Scotland that I know of for certain.
Thanks for your help and kind words.
Regards
Tom. _________________ Endeavouring to locate relatives of the men who served on HMS Martin |
