A very long shot! A colleague and I are attempting to ascertain the cause of death of the above lady who died on 11th September 1940 and is commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial Surrey. Apart from that he has ascertained that she was from Aberdeen.
Is there the remote possibility that any member has knowledge of her e.g. name on a memorial or whatever?
Most grateful for any info

An Isabella Reid Stewart (M.S. Ryles) died on the 11th of September 1940 aged 40 at 194 School Drive, Aberdeen.
Her death was a suicide, the result of coal gas poisoning. (She put her head in the oven?)
I have a copy of her D.C. and R.C.E. if you'd like?

My thanks to Derek for his interest and effort for which I have advised him. Unfortunately the Death Certificate would suggest that she was a Housewife and no other occupation, so one of those strange coincidences
I am therefore still looking for a potential candidate for our casualty.

For General interest. I have received a response fron Aberdeen City Library with a press notice that confirms the Isabella who died at home was in fact a member of the ATS so we can safely assume that she is the same Isabella commemorated on Brookwood Memorial and she is buried in Trinity Cemetery, Aberdeen.
My colleague is now completing the research.

With so many unsolved mysteries it does give you the spur to carry on when you get one.

Feet dry, never left the house.
She is buried in Trinity Cemetery in Aberdeen, there is no headstone over the lair.
Full details will be forwarded to CWGC via our mutual friend. _________________ Jim
