(Glasgow Herald 18th of March 1915)
"News of the death of Private David McMillan, formerly of G company, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, Kelty, has been received by his parents. Private McMillan re-enlisted after the outbreak of war and was early sent to France, where he fell victim to a German sniper on February 8. He was 32 years of age, and was born in Bridgeton, Glasgow. For the past nine years he resided in Kelty."

"Official intimation from the War Office has been received by Mrs William Boyd, Cartadam, Kelty, of the death of her husband, Corporal William Boyd, Black Watch. Boyd, who was a reservist, was employed in the mines at the outbreak of the war. He took part in the South African campaign, and received two bullet wounds in the leg at Magersfontein. He went to France with the Expeditionary Force, and had been in most of the fighting. He leaves a wife and four children."

FIFE SOLDIERS LAY DOWN THEIR LIVES.
Information has been received by Mr Gillespie, 36 Fairfield, Lassodie, that his son, Private William Gillespie, Black Watch, has been killed in action on 22d April. He was twenty- two years of age, and was employed as a miner prior to enlistment.

Mrs Bogan, 20 Grievesland Terrace, Kelty, has received intimation from the War Office that her husband, Private Robert Bogan, has been killed in action. Private Bogan enlisted in the Black Watch last September, and went to the front in February. He belonged to Dundee, where his mother resides, but he came to Kelty twelve years ago, and was working as a miner in the Aitken Pit prior to enlistment. He was thirty-one years of age and is survived by a widow and four children.

Could this be a Robert and not Samuel McCulloch? I can find no Samuel McCulloch's of any regiment on SNWM or CWGC.

"Official intimation has been received from the War Office by Miss Christina Johnstone, Milton Farm, Jamestown, of the death of Corporal Robert McCulloch (2101), B Company of the 1st Black Watch. The official statement intimates that he was wounded at La Bassee on January 25, and that his body was found there on February 9 and buried there. He was 22 years of age, and was the son of Mr McCulloch, Hilty Farm, Kelty, Fifeshire."

"Corporal Robert McCulloch, 1st Black Watch, who has been killed in action, was a Reservist and prior to being called up was employed in a mine in the Kelty district."
