I found this info in the Libindx (Library Index for Moray) has anyone out there got info on James Burgess Royal Army Medical Corps Killed in Action F & F 23-Apr-17 Son of James Burgness, Bridge of Weir. Husband of Mabel Radcliffe, Carronshore, Stirlingshire. Courant 4-5-17 5/6

Here he is as Burges, not Burgness. Same on MIC and SDGW.

Derek - it's the "and all that" bit that worries me.

James Alexander Stewart Burges appears on the WW1 Roll of the Fallen of Glasgow University M.B. Ch.B. 1910 - but no other info.
That's a bit odd considering his age at death was apparently 45 in 1917 - aged 38 when he qualified??????????.

James A Stewart Burges married Mabel Annie Radcliffe in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire in 1914 (Can't add more, no credits left)

Isn't Bridge of Weir in Kilmacolm Parish?
