The Story of St Stephen`s,Edinburgh 1828-1928 by The Hon Lord Sands LLD indicates that there are two memorials in the Church vestibule.
One to the congregation- of whom 829 served and 173 died in the service of their country.
The other is to the Fettesians who died as this was their"home" Church of Scotland.
The list of those commemorated includes Lt Col Lorrain Brodie,VC,MC as well as the Session Clerk, the Captain of the Boys Brigade, the Church Officer and the Pew opener. There were also 2 women casualties-Nurse Jessie McManus and Edith Mary Allan of QMAAC.
Can anyone Edinburgh based get in to photo these memorials and add anything else? |
