Not sure if this has been added or not previously, apologies if this is a duplicate.
The Armed Forces Memorial is currently being constructed in the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffodshire, and will hopefully be finished towards the end of this year. It wil bear the names of over 16,000 service men and women who have died in service of their country since the end of World War Two.

The website has a searchable roll of honour of all the names, and the detail can often be very good.

I'm not sure how long its been on the go Adam, I found the link on the National Memorial Arboretum website - i'm sure it wasn't there a couple of months ago.
The fact that some of the records have grave inscription details is a nice touch. A worthy addition to the CWGC and SNWM databases I think.
We used the certificates from this database to form a roll of honour for Cameronians killed in Malay and Aden, which is now on display on the Museum. |

It is a nice touch and a very good addition to the databases. It's a bit lacking in unit detail and that is where the SNWM will still come in handy.
The good thing about it as well as it doen't make any difference between a service man or woman lost in action or accidentally. I knew Graeme Coghill from School (his older brother was in my class). He died accidentally on holiday in Mexico after returning from UN work in Africa. he isn't listed on the Clyne War memorial in Brora but is listed on the AFM database here
This means we can fill in details for men and women listed on memorials on this forum but who are not on the SNWM database.

Thought I'd mention that around a year or so ago they changed the database and took out the place of Birth/Home Town info.
A pity in my mind. I had meant to follow up on my home town casualties but can no longer do this as I hadn't saved them offline.
Compare the info now displayed with the previous above.
