UKNIWM Ref 8899
OS Map Ref HZ 207 707
It may be a long time until we get a photograph of this memorial so I thought I would add the following information in the meantime.
The OS Map Ref will need to be checked on the ground.
The memorial is on the site of the Auld Kirk at the top of the graveyard and bears the following inscription:
"IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS DISTRICT WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR. THEIR NAMES LIVETH FOR EVERMORE" and has the folowing names:
Robert Eunson (Upper Leogh)
Stewart Eunson (Upper Leogh)
William S Euanson (Upper Leogh)
William Stout (Jnr)(Taft)
Charles S McLean (Schoolhouse)
Kenneth McLean (Schoolhouse)
George Stout (Lower Stoneybrek)
Jerome Wilson (Springfield)
Erected on 17/8/1923 and unveiled on 10/9/1923 by Mrs Polly Eunson (Upper Leogh) who lost two sons (Robert and William S Eunson) and her husband (Stewart Eunson) during the war.
