Not stricly a memorial but worth posting I think. That is a cracking piece of sculpture for a week's work! What material is it do you know? There is nothing to say this is for Montrose so I wonder if these were given to other towns too? That's made my day seeing this. It was orgainised in a similar way to the Wings for Victory Week the previous year, with each county set a target for the amount of money they should try to raise. Plaques were awarded by the War Office where these targets were successfully reached. This must have been the County of Angus plaque. I wonder if we can find out if what other Scottish County was awarded one. It must have been in the papers. East Renfrewshire Council has one too.
