Located in the Angus Council Access office on Montrose High Street, inside the former town council house.
Not stricly a memorial but worth posting I think.
It reads:
For Freedom
War Savings Campaign 1944
Presented By The War Office
In Recognition Of
Successful Achievement In
Salute The Soldier Week

If you consider a war memorial as a commemoration war service then I think this counts as a war memorial.
That is a cracking piece of sculpture for a week's work!
What material is it do you know? There is nothing to say this is for Montrose so I wonder if these were given to other towns too?
That's made my day seeing this.
Cheers

| There's one, which was awarded to Hamilton, currently on display in the Low Parks Museum in Hamilton. |
