Derek Boorman has published three books over the last 20 years packed full of photographs and snippets of information on all types of war memorials throughout the UK.
His first one was
At the Going Down of the Sun: British First World War Memorials
He then published a further volume which covers Second World War memorials.
For Your Tomorrow: British Second World War Memorials
I haven’t seen a copy of this but I’m sure it is very similar to his first volume.
He has recently published book of his 100 favourite British War memorials which covers some memorials already listed in his other two books along with others covering all the main British wars of the 20th century. For some reason it was published by Leo Coper and it has been reissued by Pen & Sword
A Century of Remembrance: One Hundred Outstanding British War Memorials
“A study of one hundred United Kingdom war memorials, which commemorate 20th century conflicts from the Boer War to the Falklands and Gulf wars. The memorials chosen are listed as near as possible in chronological order and represent different wars, different artists, different areas of the country, and a variety of types of memorial.”

I picked up the first two for a combined price of ten pounds a couple of years ago. You're right in that the Second World War volume is similar to the First World War one. Practically identical, in fact.
Both are well worth having. Some very good photos and information in them. |

Can someone with his first book please look up the entry for Edgerston in the Scottish Borders and tell me what the names and dates are?
I can't make out some of the details and I'm looking to transcribe this memorial. _________________

Derek,
It's not in the book. It's not an exhaustive guide, more of a general selection of styles and types of memorials.

I've got the third book; A Century of Remembrance. It was a good purchase.
