This Roll of Honour is a bit of a mystery. It has no details apart from the regimental number, names and regiments.
It is in the possession of Carluke Historical Society, and is not on display although it can be viewed upon request. My thanks to them for allowing these pictures. They were unable to give any information as to the source of this Roll.
The markings next to some names are as follows:
Cross: Killed
X: wounded
*: Gained Military Medal
(This is explained at the bottom of the Roll but I didn't take a closeup of that)

Additional information: Son of James Gilchrist, of 72, Douglas St., Carluke, Lanarkshire.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: E. 6.
Cemetery: MEAULTE MILITARY CEMETERY
SDGW has him born and residing in Carluke. Enlisted at Hamilton, formerly 39890, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
