Hi

Thought this would be a good place to put one of my new aims into print.

A little bit of research has shown me that there does not seem to be a list of air crash sites for Dumfries and Galloway so I have started to put one together in a small way (for both civil and military crashes).

Included are crashes where one or more people have died, with or without memorials, or where some evidence of the accident exists on the ground (wreckage etc). In other words, where there is something to see, or where there should be a memorial. Excluded are crashes where all wreckage has been removed (and no-one died) and crashes in the sea around Dumfries and Galloway.

I have some info on the Blue Peter crash at Carsphairn, the memorial in the Dyke at Carsphairn, the 6 crashes on Cairnsmore of Fleet listed on the memorial and the accident at Dundrennan. If you have any extra info on these or info on any other accident sites, please PM me.

I seem to be making this a personal message thread, but I don't suppose anyone minds Confused

I apologise for keeping a low profile lately, a lot of visitors, busy at work (morning job and afternoon job) and in fact evening job at the moment as well. And I keep getting volunteered for things Embarassed

I have memorials to post (sorry), war graves to post (sorry), replies on executed soldiers (sorry), females on war memorials (sorry) and tons of work in progress on Scottish Military Aircraft crashsites before I have to return 2 key reference books in August. I WILL be back, but just keeping up with the odd post for now

Sorry I have been so quiet lately, a very busy time with family and work coincided with all sorts of computer problems. I have my email working again but still not getting alert mails from either this or the war grave projects. Also got my PC limping back to life but a new one is on order.

I have quite a lot of correspondance to catch up on but send me a reminder if you are waiting for something to make sure I haven't missed it.

Regards

Paul
