Hi Jamie,
I hope I have reached the place. I have found the Memorial of the Fergusson Family Ethiebeaton, which we thought had been dismantled and moved when the Ethiebeaton quarry expanded. I am pleased to say the memorial is well and in a pristine location. On are two officer sons of the family, two men of the estate killed WW1 as well as other members of the family. If this is the right place let me know and I will post the photos and details |

Hi Jim,
Great, I had another visit to the monument today. Again the sun was shining I am looking forward to full spring when all the flowers are out. Now to wrestle with the photos!

Tom don't give up the ghost just yet. If you open a topic in this forum without the photo one of the moderators can post it for you using the details in the GWDF.
Regards

These two brothers were sons of Mr & Mrs Don of Don Brothers Buist & Co , Textile Manufacturers (later Don & Low ) . Two of their elder brothers survived the Great War one being Dean Alan Don , Westminster Abbey at the Queen's Coronation in the 1950s and Air Vice Marshal Francis Percival Don who in the Great War had served in the Scottish Horse as a Captain and then RFC as a pilot , taken POW having been wounded in action and in WW2 was AVM FP Don , RAF .
There is a book called " Archibald Don - a Memoir edited by Charles Sayle published in 1918 by John Murray, Albemarle St , London and this book is compiled from letters etc of Lieut Archibald Don , 10 Black Watch
The two brothers are also listed on the Scottish Episcopal Church War Memorial at Broughty Ferry |

The seat is not actually beside the war memorial, which is at the junction of School Road and Main Road, in open country with nothing else there.
The seat is at Huntingfaulds Road.
This is the war memorial, for reference-
