Glasgow City Council and Glasgow University have got Heritage Lottery Funding to build First World War trenches in Pollok Park in Glasgow. Once built - using plans drawn up by battlefield archaelogy expert Dr Tony Pollard - they will be used for educational purposes until 2018.
As part of the 2015 Doors Open Day there will be re-enactors and other activities on during Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September between 10 am and 4pm.

We will also be there to give advice on researching WW1 family history. Unfortunately a few of the SMRG volunteers who usually help out at such events have other commitments on that weekend, so if anyone else can help out - even for an hour or two it would be much appreciated.
If you do think you can help out - even if just to cover the table to let the others away for a break - can you please e-mail us at:

Kind regards
