Something seems odd here.

4722 is linked to Canada, SDGW has him born Kildonan, e Inverness and residinig at Loth.

Hard to believe he is a native of Neilston, you can't believe the press. Not on the Boyndie memorial.

SDGW shows his date of death as 28th as does his MIC. No service record is shown on Ancestry so I guess this will remain a mystery unless something turns up in local papers.

Just a thought, but if he was married and his wife was from Neilston, might that explain it?

A / Sgt Gordon is presumed to have died on, or after 25th Sept. Official record shows 25th - 28th Sept. 1915

My thoughts too. Could even be where a parent or grandparent hailed from.

Derek.
