Something seems odd here.
4722 is linked to Canada, SDGW has him born Kildonan, e Inverness and residinig at Loth.
Hard to believe he is a native of Neilston, you can't believe the press. Not on the Boyndie memorial. _________________ Jim

SDGW shows his date of death as 28th as does his MIC. No service record is shown on Ancestry so I guess this will remain a mystery unless something turns up in local papers.
Just a thought, but if he was married and his wife was from Neilston, might that explain it?

A / Sgt Gordon is presumed to have died on, or after 25th Sept. Official record shows 25th - 28th Sept. 1915 _________________ Jim

My thoughts too. Could even be where a parent or grandparent hailed from.
