The Glasgow Herald, Thursday, July 29th., 1915. Deaths on Service notice:-
"CRON.- Died on hospital ship Devanha on 5th July of wounds received in action in Dardanelles on 3rd July, Private Thomas R. Cron, aged 20 years, younger son of George Cron, merchant, and Mrs Cron, 3 Ayr Road, Dalmellington."

Commemorated on this memorial and buried locally at Dalmellington (New) Cemetery, which consists of two extensions (made in 1889 and 1909) on the North-East side of the Parish Churchyard.:
