No sign af an article about the unveiling, so here is the next nearest.
The Scotsman - 04-Oct-1919
KIRKLISTON WAR MEMORIAL
The Committee appointed by the inhabitants of Kirkliston and district have approved of a war memorial design prepared by Mr John Jordan, architect, Edinburgh. A very suitable corner site has been presented by Sir John Stewart Clark. The memorial's chief feature is an obelisk on a stepped base, with stone paving and walls.

This could be a real shocker if I can dig into further into it and can prove that the 2 were related - and given their very distinct name I think they could well prove to be.
They died the same day:

From the 1901 census, the Reeder family at Kirkliston:
James Reeder 40
Helen Reeder 28
Elizabeth Reeder 14
Margaret Reeder 13
James Reeder 7
William Reeder 5
David Reeder 3
There is only one James Reeder on SNWM but there is another (of the same age) listed in the 1901 census so it might be him.
Nothing in Ancestry's MIC or service records that might help
