Since you guys are "on a roll" with Robert McDill could you have a look at another on the same memorial. "Teddy" also wants to know.
CHARLES DALRYMPLE RA died 2 March 1920 from TB at Little Kirkland, Urr
The death notice states that he died "as the result of illness contracted on active service" but I'm not sure that this is a Non-Com issue.
I've found 2 MICs Any ideas to sort out which is which?
Is the fact that there is a discharge date significant? _________________ Ken |

The Stewartry ROH just has surname, initiall and Urr - no other info. Not on SNWM or SDGW. No service record on Ancestry. Transferred from RFA to Lab Corps may indicate no longer fit for frontline service and a discharge date may indicate no longer fit for service, shame there is no Kings Regs para. I haven't found him listed on any local memorials apart from Haugh of Urr.
Do you know where he is buried?

Charles Dalrymple is buried in Keir Churchyard, Dumfriesshire.
He was born at Keir 1876. Aged 43 when he died.
Did "Teddy" send you a photo of the grave? _________________ Ken |

I think there is no prospect with Dalrymple as a service related death without a service file and link to TB.
His DC has no mention of miltary service and gives the cause as Pulmonary TB. Acute Miliary. If he is the man discharged March 1919 the MIC reference suggests he was fit then. There is no reason that he could not contract TB and die within a year.
That said, it may well be he contacted during his service. There is no way now to prove that now.
There may be an avenue to check out but you would need to put me in touch with his living immediate NOK. _________________ Jim
