Urr Parish War Memorial is just outside the village of Haugh of Urr on the land of Waterside Farm. The site was provided by Colonel Birnie of Redcastle. The memorial was unveiled on Sunday 3rd July, 1921 by Colonel R.F. Dudgeon of Cargen, Lord Lieutenant of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright. It is a Celtic cross of Creetown granite and cost £315.
Approaching from Castle Douglas, go left at the junction on a bend at the top of the village (be careful, you are actually going straight ahead) and follow the narrow road a few hundred yards up. There is no parking area at the memorial. You can turn a little further ahead and come back or go on and pass the church - worth a stop - and complete the loop coming back out on the Dalbeattie road. A right turn takes you back towards the village.Urr Parish War Memorial is just outside the village of Haugh of Urr.
