Many years back I was given this list of names relating to the memorials commemorating the staff of Lyle & Scotts who perished in the 2 wars.
However, I don't know what the original source of the names was.
The UKNIWM states that the WW2 memorial is lost and there was no sign of it on my visit so below I am listing those names that I was given.
1939-45
G Murray Royal Navy
E.O. Briggs M.C Army
J.W Hunter
J Walton
H Turnbull
J.E Scott DFC RAF _________________ There must be a place under the sun where hearts of olden glory grow young ..... |

Lyle & Scotts confirm that their memorial to the Second World War is missing. A search of their archive in Selkirk drew a blank. _________________ There must be a place under the sun where hearts of olden glory grow young ..... |
