His pension record exists on Ancestry.
Enlisted as Private 6204 19/10/1917 39th Training Reserve
Transferred as Private S/20155, 2/5th Gordon Highlanders 12/12/1917
Treated at 4th Scottish General Hospital
Discharged 19/1/1918 "no longer physically fit for war service"
However I cannot see what the cause was.
I assume he was injured during training - this might be a problem in connecting his cause of death to his reason for discharge - but maybe not??? _________________ Ken |

The community must have deemed it war related to have him on the war memorial Kenneth, regards Matt |

Yes indeed Matt, but it's the folks at the Army Museum and at CWGC who will need to be convinced, via evidence, that the cause of discharge and the cause of death are the same.
Many of us have examples of men named on war memorials who have not been accepted for inclusion on the CWGC Debt of Honour Register. _________________ Ken |
