Location: Kirkintilloch Baptist Church, 52 Townhead, Kirkintilloch.
This memorial is currently not on public display, although a decision on where to display it may be taken some time in the future.
From the Kirkintilloch Baptist Church website:
"In 1951 the church, still situated in Regent Street and looking to expand its premises, were offered the South Church of Scotland in Townhead as a free gift. The church gladly accepted and on Sunday 9th September 1951 the first Baptist services were held in our former building. The congregation was swelled by 44 members of the church of Scotland who chose to remain in the church and join the Baptist congregation. The hall in Regent Street was in turn passed on to the YMCA and later to the 1st Kirkintilloch, 32nd Glasgow Company of the Boys Scouts and is still in their possession."
This stone, of the same size and design, would seem to confirm this is the memorial for the South Church:
To the Glory of God and in memory of the men of this Church who fell in the Great War 1914-19
