It's in the British Library, London, and, of the 142 names on it, several are from Scottish libraries.
The three with obvious Scottish connections that I haven't yet been able to identify are are:-
J. Duncan, Edinburgh
B. Hall, Institute of Engineers & Shipbuilders
C.A. Mackay, Edinburgh
From what I've found online the Institute of Engineers & Shipbuilders was in Glasgow and had a very impressive library. But the building is now occupied by the Scottish Opera so I have no idea if there was a roll of honour there. (There's still a stained glass window featuring the Lusitania - has anyone here photographed that? http://www.iesis.org/history.html )
Can anyone identify Duncan, Hall and Mackay as being librarians? Once the holidays are over I can contact Edinburgh Library to see if they have info on Duncan and Mackay. _________________ http://warmemorials.myfastforum.org/ |

The third name could be:

Age:31
Regiment/Service:Seaforth Highlanders 5th Bn.
Awards:Mentioned in Despatches
Panel Reference:Bay 8.

The Clan MacKay Society War Memorial Volume shows him as "(Edinburgh)" under 1st Battalion and the above details under 5th Battalion.

Many thanks, Ken. I'd wondered if it could be him but didn't know if there was an Edinburgh connection. I'll suggest his name when I contact the library. _________________ http://warmemorials.myfastforum.org/ |
