anyone have any info on this? I digup victorian bottles and came across this stoneware one that looks victorian style but is AM Air Ministry marked. Ive dug all over the area and have only found just one of these and lucky to have it intact. Ive searched the net but I cant find any info or mention of this type. Anyone? Ill assume its ww2 era

never seen anything like it, couldn't be post WW2 could it, perhaps for some aviation special liquid that needs a small container of this type? How did they store AVPIN?

Looks like they are selling it for 2900 yen (about £22.65 at today's rate).
The Google translator gives the following translation of the text there:
"It is a bottle of old stoneware.
What I had no idea no one can see the stamp.
173 millimeters 69 millimeters in diameter and height.
Good condition.
It seems I use the vase. "

Could it be an SRD jar? (Supply Reserve Depot)
The design above, and on the Japanese selling site, looks similar to the one on the IWM site - used as a rum jar.

It seems that the SRD jar has WWI origins, but may have still been in use in WWII (according to various websites, upon searching for "SRD jar").

not meaningless jargon no, I found out the bottle was used for flux/soldering fluid, and the AM is "Air Ministry" I reckon, |
