Dear Scottish War Memorial Project
I’m post another topic about a Scottish aviator that during second world war died in North Italy near my city:
Name: McKenzie, Andrew
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.)
Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 40 Sqdn
Service n°: 1567889
Date of Death:11/07/1944
Age:22
Additional Information: Son of Andrew and Agnes L. McKenzie, of Paisley, Renfrewshire.

Andrew McKenzie, died in july 11, 1944. He crashed in northern Italy, near Milano
with his aircraft: WELLINGTON X MF399, 40° SQDN RAF, 205 GROUP. Airport of
departure: Regina, Italy. Crew:
Flight Sergeant (Pilot) WALTERS, NORMAN (RAF); Flight Sergeant (Air Gnr.)
ELWORTHY, ARTHUR JAMES (RAF); Flight Sergeant (Nav) MABEY, ALBERT HORACE (RAF);
Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.) McKENZIE, ANDREW (RAF); Flight Sergeant (Air Bomber)
ROSS, ALAN (RAF). They are all buried in a collective grave in Milan War Cemetery. You see the
web site of CWGC.

I've already tried looking in all war memorial of Renfrewshire available on this web site, but unfortunately I could not find Andrew McKenzie.
Why Andrew McKenzie is not named on a war memorial?
I have already spoken with George Prentice author of the book: "Paisley's World War Two and Post-war Roll of Honour", but he was not able to help me.

I would like to find any documents about Andrew McKenzie and his crew. any Photos of Andrew McKenzie and his crew, articles in newspapers, etc.

Please can you help me?
Please can you tell me with whom I need to talk for have help?
Your Sincerely
Sergio, Italy

Sergio

This may not be of much use but the Scottish National War Memorial site does have Andrew McKenzie's birthplace as Paisley. The Scottish Stautory Records via Scotlands People also has an Andrew McKenzie being born in Paisley in 1922 but due to the 100 year rule, the records are not available on line.
