Channelkirk is said to have been the place where St Cuthbert lived, and it contains this charming (and rather pink) church.
Oxton is the main population centre in the parish.
Interestingly the roll notes those Disabled and Wounded as well as Killed.
Abormally high number seem to have served with the Canadians.

Note there wasn't another church in Channelkirk. Nearest UF was Lauder.
Lt Weir has a plaque in Channelkirk school.

These 19 are the same 19 on Oxton's civic memorial (war memorial hall). I've added the detail from the accompanying roll in green after each man. Note Affleck isn't shown as Killed on the roll - whilst Ovens isn't on the roll.
