It was a right 'dreich' day but I managed (just) to get pictures of the Slamannan War Memorial which sits at the junction of the B803 and the B8022.

I notice there are no Argylls on the list of Second World War names but there are 4 Gordon Highlanders.

The last time I visited the memorial I had better weather and the sandstone lions were dry. They looked so red though that I thought they must have been recently cleaned and treated with some kind of stone preservative at that time.
The names are unusual, there are no Royal Navy names in WWI but a few in WWII. There is also variation sometimes listing a man as Black Watch, other times as Royal Highlander; sometimes as Scottish Rifles, then as Cameronian. I have a transcription below but there is also the possible confusion over the letters C and G. the letter C on the memorial seems to be slightly more elongated so I think I've got it right but there is always the chance of an error.
