WILLIAM CORSON L/Cpl (8514) 1st Cameron Highlanders died 7/10/1916 and is buried in Basra War Cemetery......But none of the Cameron battalions served in Mesopotamia 
His MIC states that he entered France on 19 December 1914, which indicates that he was 2nd Battalion - and that is the unit given on his marriage notice in a local newspaper.
He married Mary Donnelly of Princes St. Newton Stewart on 21/6/1915 as a Soldier, Cameron Highlanders of Rouen, France.
SNWM & SDGW says died in France & Flanders but (from the Great War Forum) the Honour Roll of the 2nd Camerons says Mespotamia and the Death Returns say Med. Exp. Force.
Any ideas where I can go next?
As an aside, he was born in Annan, Dumfriesshire as William Seaton

worth double checking to see if you have two different people
in modern times, it is fairly common to get the odd soldier with specialist skills posted well away from his parent regiment, I recall a Royal Irish Ranger working in Kensington Palace and a Dental Corps man serving with the Royal Army Pay Corps attached to KOSB. I don't know how common this was back then though.
