How amazing! I sent some e-mails to St Mary's school only yesterday. I had seen some newspaper references to a memorial consisting of three oak panels surmounted by a fine clock - the names of 33 past pupils who fell in the war were inscribed on the panels. Rather worryingly, the school say they have never heard of this.

A number of times I've asked folk if their church has a memorial plaque or window, roll of honour or aything war related inside and they are quite sure there isn't, it turns out there's a massive granite memorial on the wall.
