The memorial to the men and shipyard workers who died in the K13 disaster on the Gareloch on 29th January 1917 is a grey granit drinking well standing near the entrance gates in the David Elder Park, Govan.
The face inscription reads:
SACRED
TO
THE MEMORY OF
THOSE NAMED
WHO LOST THEIR LIVES
IN
H.M. SUBMARINE K13
IN THE
GARELOCH
29TH JANUARY 1917

AND ADDITIONAL PANEL:
IN MEMORY OF
ALL ALLIED SUBMARINES WWII
STILL ON PATROL
BY
FAMILIES AND FRIENDS
(Fairfields and several other Clyde Yards were heavily involved in submarine construction)

Here is a story from The Sunday Post dated January 23, 2011.
A service took place at Govan today, Saturday January 29.
I'm sorry it's so big - if anyone can tell me how to scale it, I will do!
