The Memorial to Air Chief Marshall Sir Hugh Dowding who led R.A.F. Fighter Command in the Battle of Britain stands in Station Park, Moffat. The monument is in a local red sandstone with a bronze memorial tablet on the wall and RAF crest badges on the flanking 'wings'. The architect and designer was D. Bruce Walker and the sculptor Scott Sutherland.
The following pages are from a brochure I picked up on the Tourist Information Office.
