St Georges Tron Church is situated in Nelson Mandela Place and was formed from the merger of St George's Church and Tron United Free Church.
The plaque for Tron United Free was on the left-hand wall inside the church itself.
St George's Tron recently underwent a large modernisation. It seems that the memorials were deemed out of place, as someone I know recently visited and the only memorial plaque they could find was this:
It's situated at the foot of the balcony stairs.
I will make a point of investigating what has happened to the original plaques, as I think it's disgraceful that they seem to have been replaced by a small piece of perspex. |

The original memorials are now housed in a cupboard in the basement of the church hall, which is located at 25 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 1HW.
I do not know what plans the church has for these memorials.

This memorial is not listed on UKNIWM
I visited the church today, the old memorials are in long term storage in the basement of 25 Bath St. There are no plans for them.
The new plaque is part of the major refurbishment in a thoroughly modern style. |
