The Roll of Honour is quite long so I had to photograph it in sections. There is a slight overlap of names but I believe that all names are covered.

Thanks are due to Mr.Alexander Hillan for giving me access to photograph the Roll of Honour.

Did half the population of Lesmahagow emigrate to New Zealand????
I don't think I've seen so many on a Roll.

Tom Meikle's death is mentioned here:
http://muse.aucklandmuseum.com/databases/Cenotaph/10632.detail?Ordinal=1&c_surname_search=meikle&c_firstname_search=thomas&c_warconflict_search=%22world+war+i,+1914-1918%22

"On the morning of the third day, 28th May, if my reckoning is right, shrapnel came over early, killing Tom Wilson, one of the the men who had been with me in those last days on Rhododendron Ridge, mortally wounding Tom Meikle of the 7th Reinforcements on the same fire-step, and sparing Tom McCone, who had been sitting between the other two."

Thanks Ken. You always seem to find things for me. It's much appreciated.
Happy Christmas.

Only the masons!

The only other place I've seen so many NZEF units listed as a proportion of the total names is the five out of twenty names on the Kinlochbervie War Memorial.

Regards
