The Blairgowrie Advertiser of Nov 17,1917 reports that a beautiful ROH was unveiled by the Rev WMuir,Church Home Mission Secretary, formerly of Blairgowrie,on Sunday November 11th.
Does anyone know if it still exists?

There is a record of the Shawlands UF Church on Canmore which became Shawlands Cross Church. But was this the same as South Shawlands UF?

There is a South Shawlands Church but there is no history on its website.

Just to confuse matters further there is still a United Free Church made up of congregations which didn't unite with the Church of Scotland in 1929 and there is still a UF church for Langside and Shawlands.

More investigation needed here.

The Glasgow Story website

http://www.theglasgowstory.com/image.php?inum=TGSA01250&t=2&urltp=search.php%3Fstart%3D0%26end%3D20%26what%3D%26where%3D%7CShawlands%26who%3D%26period%3D%26collection%3D%26search%3D99

suggests "The church on the corner of Moss-side and Pollokshaws Road was the United Free Church which is now Shawlands Cross Church, designed by Miller & Black and built 1900-1903. It was built of silver-grey sandstone and an octagonal timber bell turret was erected in place of a tower."

It goes on to mention "Further down Pollokshaws Road at number 1120, and just visible behind the United Free Church, is Shawlands Old Parish Church. It was designed by John A Campbell of John Burnet, Son & Campbell and built between 1885 and 1889. The facade fronting the Cross was modelled on Dunblane Cathedral and the three stained glass windows which remain today were completed in 1950 as a war memorial by Douglas Hamilton."
